My Indigo Child has been a problem at school; he has difficulty with authority and structure, as well as other people’s personal space. I know these are Indigo traits. Can you explain why he does this?
The Indigos are “a problem” in school only that they do not fit society’s model of how a child should act nor do they fit into the school system well at all. It is very difficult for an Indigo to adapt to the school's practice of repetitive learning in the form of recitation or homework and to adapt to strict rules. Your child would benefit from home schooling if this is a possibility. Have you checked into the possibility of home schooling your child? Without exception, our studies have shown that they are remarkable students when home schooled. Behavior problems decrease considerably, if not completely disappear.
My Indigo child’s school wants to put my child on drugs for ADHD. Is this the answer?
Drugs are never the answer. Drugs interfere with their higher vibration. A drug is a drug, whether it is legal or illegal as far as the body chemistry is concerned. Home schooling may be the answer, but first, check what your child is eating. Quite often, the answer is partially, if not all, the foods he or she is eating. Your child needs to have only organic foods and no processed foods at all. This is sometimes very difficult for the family if they don’t understand or do not wish to pay or cannot pay higher prices for these foods. But their body simply cannot handle any chemicals of any kind. Be very wary of putting the child on Ritalin, a drug with side effects and withdrawal symptoms. These drugs are designed to help parents and teachers to cope rather than assist the child. Look into homeopathic and dietary alternatives that are more effective and do not cause damage.
My Crystal child did not talk until he was nearly four, can you tell me the cause of this and should I be concerned?
Crystals talk late because they do a great deal of mental telepathy with other Indigo/Crystals and see no need to learn to talk audibly. When they do speak, they often skip the "baby talk" and begin speaking in sentences. It is not a concern unless they continue to not speak after the age of 4 or 5. Unfortunately, this characteristic of the Crystal child has been a major factor in many of these children being diagnosed as Autistic.
My Indigo/Crystal child is very sensitive to chemicals and has food allergies, can you tell me what to do to help him?
Feed your child only the purest of food that is possible. This not only means organic, but means no processed foods. Avoid any chemicals as if they were poison because to them, they are. Do your utmost not to let your child have any drugs (legal or illegal). Learn to read labels - all labels - very carefully and most of all, avoid all fast food restaurants. If their body gets chemicals in the form of drugs or processed food, then the body reacts and the hyperactivity and allergies begin. Fast food restaurants routinely use MSG in their foods, a known neurotoxin, that causes behavior problems and irritable digestion.
My daughter has huge eyes and is very telepathic. Is she a Crystal?
Quite possibly, especially due to the trait of telepathy. You might want to refer to the rest of the characteristics of a Crystal found on this website, also.
My son does very well on tests but seldom does his homework. Could he be an Indigo child?
He could be. That is a trait of an Indigo; they are highly intelligent and learn quickly. The repetition of homework to “learn” is not necessary for them. However, you need to check the rest of the characteristic traits.
My child is very sensitive, intelligent and has few friends. She loves art and is very creative. She also loves music and loves to dance. Could she be an Indigo?
She is more likely a Crystal, or at a minimum a blend of the Indigo/Crystal. She is not likely an Indigo. However, this is not enough information to declare her a Crystal. Many children exhibit these characteristics. Check the Crystal profile on this page for more traits.
My Indigo child has been diagnosed as being ADD; he is very bright yet very bored with school. What would you suggest we do to help him? We don’t want to put him on drugs.
Indigo/Crystal children are very right brained, as well as advanced spiritually and energetically. They have a high intelligence and learn quickly. The first problem generally arises when the child enters the school system and needs to adapt to the school's way of functioning, which is left-brained repetition, structured, organized and linear. They get bored in school because of the repetition and lose interest. He or she seeks other ways to stimulate its interest, which leads to many Indigo Children being labelled as ADD and ADHD. At this point, the school may require they be given Ritalin. Usually, there is nothing wrong with them other than boredom. The Indigo or Crystal child responds well to an education system that balances right and left brain and that includes creativity in the form of music, art, dance and drama. A good system for an Indigo/Crystal child is the Waldorf system. It is, however, quite expensive and at the time of this writing, only 170 schools in the U.S. Home schooling is an excellent alternative.
My child is very attracted to trees and crystals. Is this a trait of Indigo Children?
It is a stronger trait of the Crystal children, not the Indigos.
I have done a lot of research on the subject of Indigo/Crystal children and I believe my daughter is a combination of both. She has many qualities of both. Is this possible?
Very definitely this is possible. Quite often it is a blend.
My Indigo/Crystal daughter often sees deceased relatives and also talks to them. What does this mean?
Indigo/Crystals have a heightened spiritual awareness and often see and talk to the other side. This is something that anyone can do if they have a higher vibration. This is okay, but she needs to learn to use discretion who to tell these things to. Discouraging this gift can shut it down.
I believe my daughter to be a Crystal. She is very loving and connected, but unfortunately, struggles with peer issues because she is “different”. Teachers and adults are drawn to her, but she has no friends of her own age. What can I do to help her get friends?
Crystal children are different and she is feeling this. It is extremely difficult for them to relate to the rest of the world because they feel different, and therefore, “less than” and believe they don’t fit in. Feeling dysfunctional may lead many Indigo/Crystals to drug abuse or eating disorders in an attempt to heal or disguise this feeling of inadequacy. She may feel it is important to be like "everyone else", but she will find other Indigo/Crystals to be friends with and believe me, there are thousands of them. It is very important for her to recognize that she is different, but not dysfunctional and to accept herself.
I have heard that Indigo/Crystal children need to have special diets. Is this really necessary?
They must not eat certain foods, that is true. Meats and chicken, unless organic contain hormones, antibiotics and chemicals. Virtually all canned, boxed, packaged or processed foods available in supermarkets today contain chemicals that may not be tolerated. Also, the child may become wheat and diary intolerant. Watch for any symptoms such as digestive problems, sinus and ear and/or nose and throat disorders. They must have natural and organic foods without additives or processing. They can have bad reactions if given sugar and/or caffeine. Be vigilant - any "junk food", sweets, pop (either diet or regular) will create hyperactive behaviour in the child. Feeding an Indigo or Crystal Child a candy bar and a coke is tantamount to giving the child a drug. The child may respond by becoming hyperactive with dysfunctional behaviour until this sugar high wears off which will cause a "downer" and the child will then suffer sugar and caffeine withdrawal symptoms.
My child is nervous and anxious. She's 5 years old and sensitive to touch, sound, light, crowds. She also has a tendency to get out of her seat at school and talks to herself in the back of the room. I'm sure she is a Crystal but don't know what to do about this.
Crystal children are very sensitive. Their senses are very strong, especially hearing and vision. She will be stressed and become anxious by loud noises, crowds of people, TV and loud, noisy music. She may respond by becoming hyperactive and destructive, though some Crystals will respond just the opposite, by becoming depressed and withdrawn as they attempt to shut the noise off. Your child needs a calmness and serenity in her environment, as much as you can provide. She needs a minimum, if any electronic toys and very little TV. Keep electronic items such as clock-radios, any timing devices, etc., away from her bed. You will notice a remarkable change in her behavior if the TV is limited.
I am the mother of a Crystal child and am considering getting a divorce. My 8 year old son is becoming belligerant and destructive and having problems in school, whereas he used to be a very loving boy. I am feeling guilty, but don't know what to do for him.
First, don't feel guilty. He is responding to the stress (and possible conflict?) in the family. Be as honest with him as you can about the situation. Indigo/Crystals can easily read energy fields and even if it is a mutual decision between you and your husband to get the divorce and not a conflict, he can easily sense the problems. He knows exactly what is going on, even if he can't put it into words. He is responding to this environmental stress with dysfunctional behavior which can continue if unchecked. Do whatever possible to make the environment calm and stress-free for him. Minimize noise and stress, keep TV to a minimum or not at all, certainly no violent programs. Most of all, be honest with him and encourage conversation.
PROJECT 2007: EXPANDING OUR UNDERSTANDING
Project 2007 is a pair of parallel studies designed to assist science, medical, and psychological professionals as well as the general public in identifying and understanding the traits and characteristics of Crystal and Indigo Children. There has been a great deal of anecdotal informational written and spoken about the phenomenon of the Indigo and Crystal Children. However, there have been no comprehensive scientific studies that have statistically defined what constitutes an Indigo or Crystal Child. Even though, on this page, we quote the characteristics and traits as described by other authors and generally accepted by the public, no scientific studies have ever documented these author's opinions as accurate.
Drawing from all available sources, a questionnaire is being constructed to identify the traits and characteristics that can accurately create a statistical understanding of what is an Indigo and Crystal Child. The two studies are being conducted as part of the doctoral dissertations by Diane and Brad Masters at Holos University.
An outgrowth of the studies is the addressing of two questions concerning phenomena that have led to the association of a diagnosis of ADHD with Indigo Children and delayed speech and autism with Crystal Children. A number of authors have claimed that such diagnoses are a misunderstanding of the nature of these unique children. It is the intent of the project to determine if the diagnoses of these children by medical, educational, and psychological communities constitute a statistically significant portion of the diagnosis; and are the diagnosis based on the nature of the children rather than environmental or other causes? In short, is what has been claimed by various authors concerning the diagnoses ADHD, delayed speech, and Autism a misunderstanding of these children by those making the diagnoses?
Information on the study will be periodically updated on the website. It should be noted that answers in the FAQ section of this website constitute the opinions of the authors based on their encounters and experiences with Indigo and Crystal Children.
